If you execute a moderate number of transactions each month, say no more than 10, you can update the database with less than 5 minutes effort. Obviously, more transactions require more entry effort.

The answer of course depends on how much data you need to load. If you have 2 or 3 different investment accounts averaging 8 to 10 securities in each and you have about 3 years worth of data, you should be able to load this in 2 to 3 hours.
